Research Assistant:  Hardware/Software Engineer (microelectronics/robotics)

Job Type:  Full time, DOD Civilian

We are seeking a talented self motivating individual to work on an Office of Naval Research funded project to support the US Marine Corps and support the research lab and students in general.

The candidate is expected to have experience in microelectronic prototyping, and testing from the bench to field in sometimes harsh environments. They must be able to write their own software to support development and testing. Some travel will be required. The ability to take direction and yet still "think outside the box" is key to this project. They must be able to meet deadlines. They must already live in or near the Monterey area. Security clearance is not required for this position.

They must also be willing to learn the variety of training and simulation systems in this research lab and be willing to demonstrate the systems to visitors and students. Independent research in areas of robotics, micro controllers, gaming in relation to training and simulation can be supported.
