Thesis Advisor Policy
A MOVES thesis must be advised by a MOVES faculty member holding a PhD, and have at least one co-advisor or second reader. The co-advisor or second reader must be a faculty member, whether in MOVES or not, and need not be on tenure tracked.
Q. What if the advisor I want to work with does not have a PhD?
If you would like to work with a MOVES faculty member who does not hold a PhD, then you need to have a co-advisor who does have a PhD. Ask your primary advisor for help with this.
Q. What if the advisor I want to work with is not from MOVES?
If you would like to work with a non-MOVES thesis advisor, then you will also need to have a co-advisor from MOVES.
Note.
The above policy pertains only to Masters theses, not PhD dissertation
committees. For the policy on dissertation committees, please see the Doctoral Guidelines.
