Research Associate in the MOVES Institute

Position: Research Associate in the MOVES Institute
Job Type: Full time, Department of Defense civilian

Will work with MOVES faculty on reimbursable projects involving modeling and analysis of combat and related problems., especially analysis and modeling of new and emerging capabilities of armed forces.  The position will involve development of software architectures and algorithms as well as implementation in Java.  The work will also involve developing approaches to simulating situations involving both conventional and unconventional combat.

Must have Masters degree in Operations Research, MOVES, Computer science or related field.

Must be able to obtain secret clearance.

Experience in the military is a big plus.

Proficiencies:

  • Object-oriented programming, specifically in Java.
  • Experience working with databases.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • At least 3 years experience working in modeling and simulation, and be particularly proficient in Discrete Event Simulation (DES) and Event Graph methodology.
  • Developing DES models in Simkit.
