Software Engineer / Programmer (Vision/Imaging)

Position: Software Engineer / Programmer
Job Type: Full time, Department of Defense civilian

Are you interested in video processing, motion analysis, or image stitching? How about 3D graphics and virtual environments? Or in remote-controlled aircraft?

We are seeking a talented and energetic computer scientist or electrical engineer to join our growing team of students, programmers, and faculty members. You will participate in various research projects and develop research prototypes and applications in the fields of computer vision, video processing, computer graphics and augmented reality.

The candidate is expected to have several years of programming experience, good analytical skills, and a Bachelor's or MS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a comparable field. Occasional travel to field sites to support data collection may be required. This is a full-time, on-site position and the candidate must be willing to live near the area. Clearance is not required. One more thing: while employed at NPS, you may take graduate courses at no charge!

Requirements:

  • MS degree in EE, Computer Science or related field, or
  • Bachelor's degree and 2+ years programming experience in C/C++.
  • Math skills (linear algebra, probability).
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Experience in the following is helpful: Matlab, cross platform development (Linux/MS Visual Studio), OpenGL, scene graphs, networking.
